Information handled by the app

Account information includes your email address, name, sign-in method and user ID. Profile information you provide may include your profile photo, date of birth, gender, relationship and marriage details, children, living situation and cultural background. The app also handles answers to questions, quizzes and exercises, and memories you create.

Subscription information includes subscription status and transaction records. Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play; we do not receive your card details. Device and diagnostic information includes push-notification tokens, device model, operating-system version, crash reports and performance data.

How information is used

Information is used to provide the app, connect you with your partner, deliver notifications, manage subscriptions, respond to support requests and fix problems.

The onboarding question “How would you like faith to support your relationship?” records your preferences against your account for insight into future app development. Those choices do not change the app experience and are not shown to your partner.

Sharing with your partner

The app lets paired partners share relationship activities and memories. The faith-onboarding choices described above are not shared with your partner.

Service providers

The developer’s current service list includes Supabase for database, authentication and storage; RevenueCat for subscriptions; Sentry for diagnostics; Expo for push notifications; and Apple and Google for sign-in and purchases. Website services are provided by Webador. When you email us or submit a website form, we receive the information you provide to handle your request.

Account deletion

You can use the account-deletion option in the app’s Settings, or request deletion at closermuslimapp.com/delete-account. Contact info@closermuslimapp.com for deletion or privacy requests.

Your rights

Where applicable under UK data protection law, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy of certain information. You may object to processing in the circumstances provided by law. The rights available depend on the processing and its legal basis.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Contact info@closermuslimapp.com to make a request or raise a concern. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
